Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District Government again provided scholarships to three outstanding santri to continue their education to the Middle East to deepen the knowledge of Islam.
Acting Regent through Head of Public Welfare Affair H Ahmadi when confirmed, Wednesday (1/23) in Barabai, said that scholarships to outstanding students who want to study abroad aimed at regenerating scholars on HST.
Previously the HST government also provided scholarships to six santri, namely five to Yemen and one to Egypt. In 2018, scholarships were also given to three santri, one to Yemen and two to Egypt.
"So that currently there are nine outstanding santri who carry out education abroad. In 2019 we are targeting to providing scholarships for five santri," explained Ahmadi.
Regarding the requirements of students to get a scholarship, he explained, they must pass the selection and get recommendations from their respective Islamic boarding school and from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of the HST.
