Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The government of Kotabaru District hopes to be able to establish collaboration the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) to improve services in the region.
Kotabaru Regent Muhammad Rusli made his statement when receiving a visit from Head of South Kalimantan Basarnas I Putu Sudayana here.
He appreciated Basarnas that continue to conduct active communication with local government and emphasized the importance of cross-sector synergy in dealing with emergency situation, especially considering the geographical condition of Kotabaru.

“We welcome this visit and hope the synergy between Basarnas and the district government to continue to be closely for the safety and best service for the community,” said the Regent as reported on Wednesday.
Head of Basarnas Office of South Kalimantan I Putu Sudayana stated ready to support programs run by the Kotabaru government, especially in the field of SAR.
However, the organization is facing limitation in equipment, facilities and infrastructure, including land SAR equipment, namely vehicle to reach remote areas in Kotabaru.
He said Basarnas also facesobtacle in the dock, hoping to collaborate with Kotabaru government for waters area.
In their friendly meeting, they both discussed various potential cooperation, capacity building and disaster preparedness.
This activity is one of forms of strengthening coordiation between the provincial Basarnas and the regional government in ensuring th speed and accuracy of emergency handling in Kotabaru.
