Barabai, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - As it now has a tuberculosis (TB) elimination acceleration team, the government of Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) District aggresively pursuing elimination of this deadly infectious disease.
"We establish this team as early measures in eliminating, as well as to detect TB cases early," said Head of HST Health Agency Desfi Delfiana di Barabai, Hulu Sungai Tengah, South Kalimantan, Tuesday (Nov 5, 2024).
It also collaborates with other institutions, especially in making daily and weekly report related to TB. This increases early efforts to eliminate TB cases.
“But it doesn't stop there, our health personnel use persuasive methods and pick up the balls to prevent TB,” he said.

Persuasive approach one of which is conducted by utilizing mobile community health center program (pusling) carried out by community health center (puskesmas) and integrated health post (posyandu) by targeting school students and places potential for the disease transmission.
This step can increase early detection of TB cases, especially carrying contact investigation for TB sufferers, he said.
Desfi hopes through this program, TBC cases can be resolved and prevented in HST, so that people can avoid TB, which is the deadliest infectious disease in the world.
He confirmed that in HST Regency so far there is no extraordinary condition related to TBC.
