Barabai, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Environment and Forestry Ministry (LHK Ministry) has awarded the eighth Adipura Award to Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District, South Kalimantan, in small city category for maintaining and improving cleanliness and environmental management.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and Deputy Minister of LHK Alue Dohong handed over the award to regional heads at the Manggala Wanabakti Building of LHK Ministry, Jakarta, Tuesday (March 5, 2024).
Five cities and districts in Indonesia received Adipura Kencana 2023 or the highest award and 106 districts and cities received the Anugerah Adipura 2023 for their performance in cleanliness and waste management.
“I hopes this program to continue to be enriched with various innovation, so it can adapt to dynamics of time and changes in policy direction," said VP as quoted from a written statement in HST, Wednesday.

VP asked the essence of Adipura program to be always maintained, ensuring involvement of various elements, especially commitment and performance of regional heads, as well as wider community participation in realizing sustainable development.
The government of Central Hulu Sungai has succeeded in winning eight Adipura awards in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2023.
HST Regent Aulia Oktafiandi said that Adipura award was a concrete manifestation of the regional government's efforts to maintain and improve environmental cleanliness and management.
Aulia expressed his gratitude to the ranks of HST government, especially Environment Office, along with the community and all parties who participated in environmental management efforts.
"After winning Adipura for then eighth time, hopefully we can achieve Adipura Kencana,” he said.
