Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru District Government held a ceremony to commemorate the 117th National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) in 2025 at the Regent's office yard.
Commander of 1004/Kotabaru Military Command (Dandim) Lt. Col. Inf. Bayu Oktavianus Sudibyo stated the importance of reviving the spirit of national awakening as a moral strength for the nation, especially amidt increasingly complex global challanges.
“Spirit of national awakening should be the foundation for stengthening sense of unity and increasing real contribution in the regional and national development,” he remarked in Kotabaru as reported on Wednesday.

He also invited all state civil apparatus (ASN) within the district goverment of Kotabaru to make this momentum as a reminder of the shared responsibility in developing the region, strengthening national resilience and improving public services.
This year's Harkitnas commemoration in Kotabaru is not merely a yearly ceremony, it is also a reflection of a long journey of the Indonesian nation since the era of national awakening in the early 20th century.
The government incourages all levels of society to build cross-sector collaboration asa foundation toward an advanced, resilient, and competitive Indonesia when entering a century of independence.
He also highlighted the importance of building national independence through strengthening human resources, mastering technology, and increasing productivity of strategic sectors.
According to him, younger generation has a vital role as a driving force of transformation towards a Golden Indonesia.
Harkitnas ceremony in Kotabaru was also attended by the regional officials, Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis, Forkopimda (the district leadership communication forum), heads of government agencies (SKPDs).
Their presence showed the district government's commitment in maintaining the spirit of nationalism and supporting sustainable development programs.
