Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Completion of the construction of Mount Bahalang reservoirs in Gunung Sari, North Pulaulaut, Kotabaru district, waiting for permission from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
"We'll take the recommendation of the Governor of South Kalimantan as one of the requirements to obtain permission from the Minister of Environment and Forests," said Head of the Pomala of Kotabaru Forestry Agency M Yusuf here on Friday.
Since the Mountains Bahalang reservoir in the village of Gunung Sari sealed with police line by Reskrimsus (Special Crime Investigation) Police few months ago, the construction of reservoirs unable to be continued.
Construction of dams Mount Bahalang, funded by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from cooking oil company PT Golden Hope Nusantara (GHN), has reached about 90 percent when sealed with police line.
Earlier, the Director of PDAM Kotabaru Noor Ipansyah in discussions with the Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Paris Barantai (Teachers Training Collage) explained to meet the needs of clean water for the community only one reservoir in the Kotabaru, namely Gunung Ulin reservoirs.
"Of course, this reservoir does not meet the need for clean water in Kotabaru," he said.
Therefore, he recommended the immediate completion of the construction of Mount Bahalang reservoirs, which is the CSR program of PT Golden Hope Nusantara, as a short-term solution to the problem of water crisis in the area.
However, he reminded that the construction of the reservoir to be revisited, in order to comply with the standards required.
