Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A joint team from Sungai Durian Police, TNI, Basarnas, volunteers and the community found the body of SM (32), a victim of crocodile attack in Manunggul River, Sungai Durian Sub-district, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan.
“Alhamdulillah (Thank God) the body was found this morning at around 06.15 Wita (Central Indonesia Time),” said Sungai Durian Police Chief Iptu Tri Wibawa here, Tuesday.
Tri said the team needed three days to search for the body of the victim from Sunday (18/5) to Tuesday this morning.
The team found the body face down floating about 100 meters from the missing location in Manunggul River.

The team then evacuated the body to the Sungai Durian Community Health Center (Puskesmas) for a medical examination.
Previously, a man was reported missing allegedly attacked by a crocodile when fishing di Manunggul River, Manunggul Lama Village, Sungai Durian Sub-district, Kotabaru, Sunday (May 18, 2025) petang.
The man, which later known with initial SM (34) was a resident of Manunggul Lama RT02, Sungai Durian Sub-district.
Sungai Durian Police together with TNI and Basarnas spread teams to search for the victim.
The teams were divided into a number of locations, combing the river channel that was suspected to be the initial location of the incident.
The joint team finally found the victim in a dead condition. Then, they evacuated the body to the local puskesmas (community health center).
