Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The TNI continues to mobilize all its strength to help build and restore the Central Sulawesi like before the disaster. It was recorded that 6,522 TNI soldiers had been deployed under the control of the 132 Tadulako Military Command (Korem).
"The strength of the troops can be added at any time in accordance with the needs in the field and the TNI is ready for that," said Paban V/Indonesian Army TNI Territorial Staff (Sterad) Colonel Inf Yudianto Putrajaya.
According to him, the situation of Palu, Sigi and Donggala have begun to improve. Gradually the activities of the community lead to normal conditions. This is inseparable from the participation of various parties to help with all the work on the ground with the spirit of participating in humanitarian operations after the earthquake and tsunami.
"Many volunteers who went directly from various parts of the archipelago. Their role is actually very extraordinary and heroic," said Putra to the South Kalimantan Bureau of Antara News in his press release.
The process of finding victims is still the main focus, even though the government through the National Disaster Mitigation Agency has confirmed that on 11 October 2018 the search for victims to be stopped.
For this reason, said Putra, the handling of survivors in evacuation shelters is the next concern by joint officers considering that many residents needed logistical assistance to health services.
"There are 12 hospitals that are operational, namely 9 in Palu, 2 in Donggala, and 1 in Sigi and 2 TNI service hospitals namely KRI Suharso and field hospital in Balaroa," said the former 101 Antasari (South Kalimantan) Military Commander.
