Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarmasin government owned water company PDAM Bandarmasih is now making every effort to anticipate the water service in the dry season.
"We are trying the service in dry season this year is not as bad as last year when clean water did not up to customers," Director of Operations PDAM Bandarmasih Yudha Ahmadi told reporters in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.
He said a form of anticipation is to fix a variety of piping network, such as the replacement of small diameter piping into a large-diameter piping.
"Such as the piping in front of Duta Mall to be changed from 300 to 400 millimeters and 600 millimeters, so that the water supply to the customers certainly more profusely," he said, accompanied by the company secretary Endang.
In addition, the taps to make improvements and changes to the piping system into areas that far from the Water Treatment Plant (IPA) and replace corroded pipes.
Another effort is to increase the number of generators (power plants) to turn on the pump machine, so that the circulation of water to customers completely unproblematic.
No less important is addressing the issue of raw water. Intake at various places improved, especially to facilitate the pumping of water in the subsided river due to drought. And now the company is trying to build a reservoir to save water in rainy season for use during the dry season.
