Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Hulu Sungai Government targets in 2016 to be malaria free district.
Head of the Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Health Agency drg Kusudiarto in Barabai on Thursday said in 2016 in South Kalimantan two districts proposed to be certified malaria elimination, one of which is HST.
According to him, the central government is targeting Indonesia free of malaria in 2030, while South Kalimantan region is targeted malaria elimination in 2020.
"The elimination of malaria in South Kalimantan done gradually and in 2015 there are four districts and cities to obtain certification," he said.
Accelerating the HST free of malaria program in 2016, of which socialization must run jointly by community and health workers, such as always keeping your neighborhood clean.
"The socialization is one way to increase the knowledge of citizens about healthy life free of malaria transmission, as well as the district a prerequisite for obtaining certification of malaria elimination," he said.
Assistant on Economy and Development of HST government H Pandiansyah said malaria control is part of the efforts to control infectious diseases that have an impact on reducing the mortality rate of infant, toddlers and pregnant women.
