Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Tanah Bumbu Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), South Kalimantan, appealed to the entire community of "Bumi Bersujud" (nickname of the district) to be more aware of all potential disasters in the surrounding environment.
"BPBD continues to improve performance in handling and conducting disaster prevention and conducting direct and indirect monitoring to locations that have potential disasters," said Head of BPBD Eryanto Rais in Batulicin.
He said, Tanah Bumbu has potential disasters such as floods, tornadoes, and fires. During the rainy season all residents living in the lowlands are asked to be alert to floods and landslides.
"In early 2019 there were two disasters in Tanah Bumbu, namely a tornado in Setarap Village, Satui Subdistrict, which caused 30 houses damaged, and strong winds on the coast of Kusan Hilir Subdistrict," he said.
The agency is currently working with BMKG to provide information to the public regarding weather in Tanah Bumbu, in order people be more aware by knowing the weather information that is delivered.
Eryanto Rais reminded the whole community to immediately inform the village head, sub-district head, or directly to the BPBD if a disaster occurred, so that the BPBD would quickly handle it and handle post-disaster.
