Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, is said ready to adopt “Majalengka Mart”, retail business concept applied in Majalengka District, West Java, to be developed in Bumi Saijaan (Kotabaru).
“Majalengka Mart could be an inspiration to be implemented in Kotabaru in the future. We will try to collaborate with Cooperaative, Trade and Industry Office (Dinas Koperindag) to boost the community's economy, especially for small and medium business and home industry,” said Head of Health Office Erwin when confirmed here on Friday.
Erwin, who participated in the National Leadership Training (PKN) II Class XXIII of the West Java Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), visited the Majalengka Manpower, Cooperative and MSMEs (K2UKM) Office.

Kotabaru Expert Staff for Community and Human Resources Jurainah added that Kotabaru has abundant potential in plantation, agriculture, and fisheries that could be developed using a similar concept to Majalengka Mart.
“Kotabaru has an abundance of fruits, such as banana, manggo, and fisheries products like smoked fish, which can be processed into nutritious food. All can be marketed similar to the model found at Majalengka Mart,” said Jurainah.
One of the Majalengka's leading innovation is the Innovative and Competitive Startup Movement (GASIK) for MSMEs, a mentoring program that provides Rp10 million in capital for 25 best UMKM or MSMEs to produce innovative and competitive business actors.

Coordinator of the National Leadership Training (PKN) II visitation Suryana said that the visit was attended by 15 participants from various regions in Indonesia.
“This visitation is a learning process for leadership in the field so that participants can bring home inspiration and solution for the development of their respective regions,” he said.
Head of the Industrial Relation of the Majalengka Manpower, Cooperatives and MSMEs Office Nana Sujana welcomed the visit.
“Hopefully this synergy will bring sustainable benefits to the community,” he said.
