Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan faction of the Kotabaru DPRD Dr Gewsima Mega Putra assessed teachers are the main pillar of building the nation and play strategic role in shaping a generation that is intelligent, has character, and competitive.
“Teaachers are the light of civilization. They not only teach, but building the nationa's future through exemplary, dedication, and sincerity,” he said.
This year, Kotabaru was entrusted to host National Teachers' Day at the South Kalimantan provincial level. Gewsima believes this is a form of recognition of the region's commitment in promoting quality of education.

“This trust is a source of pride for all Kotabaru people. This proves our attention to the education continue to increase and Kotabaru is capable of becoming the face of progressive and inclusive education at the provincial level,” he pointed out.
As chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan faction in the Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD), he emphasized that his party will continue to fight for policies that suport improving teacher welfare and strengthening quality of edyucation-—from learning facilities, training quality, to professional protection of educators.
Gewsima also encouraged all elements of society to make the momentum of Teachers' Day as a reminder that educationg the nation is shared responsibility.
“Happy National Teachers' Day. Thank you to all teachers for being the light for the next generation. May the spirit pf dedication you have shown energize educational progress in Kotabaru and South Kalimantan,” he said.
