Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) Awaludin stated his readiness to support Bumi Asih Village as part of food buffer zone in Bumi Saijaan (Kotabaru District).
"We are committed to fully supporting the agriculture program in Kotabaru," he said here Tuesday, during the rice harvest in Bumi Asih Village, Kelumpang Selatan Sub-district.
Awaludin said that the legislature always committed to promoting food self-sufficiency program launched by the Kotabaru Food Security and Agriculture Office (DKPP) .
"Insya Allah, through the 2026 APBD (Regional Budget) we will oversee the agriculture supporting facilities proposed by Harapan Bersama farmers group," he said.

He said that agriculture supporting facilities requested by the community, including the construction of farm road and reservoir, will be pursued in the upcoming budget.
"All of this is for the advancement of agriculture to support the President Prabowo Subianto's goal of food self-sufficiency, especially in Kotabaru," he expounded.
He also expressed deeply appreciation to Harapan Bersama farmers group for their rice harvest.
Acting Head of DKPP Sarawani said that the successful rice harvest in Bumi Asih Village covering 25 hectares was the result of support from all parties.

"Support for farmers not only from the district budget (APBD), but also from agricultural activities in several areas through proposals to the provicial government of South Kalimantan and related agencies," he said.
He also confirmed to propose to the province and ministry related to effort to provide support facilties and increase agricultural production.
"Alhamdulillah (Thank God) this rice harvest is able to produce 10.5 ton of dry grain per hectare," he said.
The farmers here planted Supadi 56 hybrid rice seeds with a 110-day cultivation period, and the selling price of Rp6,500 per kg of harvested unhusked rice (GKP) Sarawani hopes that harvest in several areas in Kotabaru will support the President's self-sufficiency program.
