Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan Province, held Pasak Todak II Scout Camp at the Gedambaan Beach attraction in Pulau Laut Sigam Sub-distrct.
Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis, who read the remarks of Kotabaru Regent H Muhammad Rusli, stating that Scout movement plays a strategic role in building the character of young generation that is faithful, has a noble morals, disciplined, independen, and ahs social and environmental concerns.
“Pasak Todak II Camp is an important means in instilling values of Tri Satya and Dasa Dharma through direct experience, togetherness, and character building for younger generation,” he said here as reported on Monday.
579 scouts from 14 braches across Kotabaru attended the activities which was combined with the commemoration of the 64th Scout Day 2025.

Deputy Regent appreciated the activity which he considered capable of strengthening brotherhood among participants, boosting scouting skills, fostering leadership and sportmanship.
Chief Executive of Pasak Todak II Camp, Syaiful Huda, said that the participants came from the Scout branch (Kwartir Ranting) of Pulau Laut Utara, Pulau Laut Sigam, Pulau Laut Timur, Pulau Laut Selatan, Pulau Laut Barat, Kelumpang Hilir, Kelumpang Selatan, Kelumpang Barat, Kelumpang Hulu, Pamukan Barat, Pamukan Selatan, Hampang, Sampanahan, and Sungai Durian.
The activities included the signing of MoU between the Kotabaru Scout Branch and the Kotabaru Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding the plan to form the Election Adhyaksa Working Unit (SAKA).

Chairman of Kotabaru Bawaslu Ronny Syafriansyah said the collaboration aims to promote participatory election supervision by involving scouts as Bawaslu's strategic partners in preparing for 2029 election.
Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Kotabaru reminded the importance of environmental awareness through scouting activities.
He hopes scouts would be at the frontline in real action of environmental preservation, such as tree planting and coastal rehabilitation.
