Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Regional Development Planning, Research and Innovation Agency (Bapperida) held a workshop on stengthening the capacity of Healthy Sub-district Forum and Healthy Village Working Groups (Pokja Desa Sehat).
Chairperson of the district Bapperida Rurien Srihardjanti emphasized that Kotabaru is required to participate in the 2027 Healthy District/City Assessment (KKS), considering that it is still one of the regions in South Kalimantan have not yet participated.
“Kotabaru's Open Defecation Free (ODF) rate is currently at79 percent must be increased to 80 percent to participate KKS assessment. Besides data completeness and institutional forum must be completed,” she said here on Friday.

The workshop was held to ready Kotabaru for 2027 Healthy District/City Assessment (KKS), particularly in the aspect of institutional forum at sub-district and village levels.
A resource person from the Health Office H Sugianor said by the end of 2025 in Kotabaru 80 percent of the total village declared ODF, technically meeting the requirement for ODF certification at the district level.
The next requirement is the establishement of Health Sub-district Forum and Healthy Village Working Group at least 50 percent.

The Head of Kotabaru Healthy District Forum (FKKS), represented by H. Kamaruz Zaman, said that of the total 22 sub-districts and more than 200 villages in Kotabaru, only a few have forums and working groups.
“The vast geographical condition of Kotabaru is a unique challange. However, with collaboration from all parties, we are optimistic that this target can be achieved,” he said.
The workshop was attended by delegations from four sub-districts: Pulau Laut Selatan, Pulau Laut Kepulauan, Pulau Laut Barat, and Tanjung Selayar.
