Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Legislative Council (DPRD) of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, held a hearing (RDP) with the management of PT Sebuku Coal Group (SCG) to discuss the continued use of mining compensation funds.
Kotabaru DPRD Speaker Suwanti here on Friday said the meeting had produced a joint commitment to finalize the use of remaining compensation funds to be focused on the construction of the Stagen Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
"The work will be carried out in three years and is targeted for completion in 2028," she said.

She informed that all activities implemented since 2014 using compensation funds have been publicly disclosed, including the remaining funds and proposal from the alliance and the DPRD so they can be implemented.
The Kotabaru DPRD, she added, had asked the ,local government to submit regular progress reports on the construction and involve alliance representatives in drafting addendum.
Meanwhile, Head Site of PT Sebuku Coal Group Luhut Siregar emphasized his company's commitment to fulfill its obligation through compensation funding.
“The construction of Stagen Hospital is currently underway. We will continue to enact the mining compensation fund as agreed with the government of Kotabaru District. Our hope is that this development will provide significant benefits to the community,” he said.
With this shared commitment, the DPRD hopes that the people of Kotabaru can immediately feel the real benefits of utilizing mining compensation funds, especially through the construction of health facilities.
The RDP was also attended by representatives of the Alliance of Non-Governmental Organization (Aliansi LSM), Regent's expert staff, Health Office, and the Kotabaru Public Works and Spatial Planning Office.
