Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Governor of South Kalimantan H Muhidin has officiated the lauch of a pinisi tourist sailing boat on Barito River, in Banjarmasin City, Wednesday.
The Barito River Cruise was brought by the region-owned enterprise (BUMD) PT Ambang Barito Nusapersada (Ambapers) from Makassar, South Sulawesi, in cooperation with the Pinisi Pusaka Indonesia Foundation.
Muhidin expressed his appreciation and hopes this pinisi not only become a new attraction for the province, but also proves that the potential river tourism on Barito River can continue to be developed creatively and sustainable.
"Barito River is not just a transportation route for people's economy, but holds extraordinary history," he said.

This pinisi will provide a unique experience for local people, domestic and foreign tourists from different angle.
He hopes that PT Ambapers's innovation will inspire other parties, open up new business opportunities for the community and improve the economy in South Kalimantan.
PT Ambapers President Director Zulfadli Gazali said a study was carried out to explore the tourism development potential on the Barito watershed (DAS) on January 26, 2024 before bringing in the watercraft.
The pinisi sailing boat with a capacity of 40 passengers has two routes, First Basirih-Banjar Raya and Kembang Island with two hours journey and passengers treated to local culinary specialties.
Second route from Banjar Raya goes round Pulau Kembang enjoying the sunset for about two hours with local cuisine and entertainment facilities.
