Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The District Government of Kotabaru directs the regional development to five priorities set out in the development planning meetings (musrenbang) through the 2026 regional government work plan (RKPD).
Kotabaru Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis here on Monday said the process of musrenbang held at the Agency of Development Planning, Research and Innovation (Bapperinda) was an important stage in planning regional development.
He described the five priorities for the 2026 development are: first, improving the quality of human resources. Here the government is committed to ensure that every citizen has the access to education and training that is in accordance with the needs of the time. The aim is to produce competent, ready to work, and competitive human resources
Second, strengthening local economy by increasing support for MSMEs, farmers, and fishermen. This economic empowerment program is expected to encourage innovation and open up new jobs.

Third, digitalization of governance to improve efficiency and transperancy by expanding electronic-based government system. Public services are expected faster, easier, and accountable.
Fourth, alleviating poverty. Pro-people pograms will focus on vulnerable groups so that they get better access to basic services and improve their standard of living.
Fifth, infrastructure development and environmental management. The government will build environmentally friendly infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, schools, and health facilities, while maintaining the sustainability of nature for the sustainability of future generations.
According to him, this musrenbang was an important moment in aligning community aspiration with the direction of regional development. The government invited all parties to synergize to realize a more advanced, prosperous and sustainable Kotabaru.
“Let us make this musrenbang a space for mutual cooperation (gotong royong) to design a better future for our region,” he invited.
"Improving the quality of human resources to support economic strengthening and sustainable infrastructure development" was the theme of this year's musrenbang. It is highlighting the importance of superior human resources as the foundation of regional progress.
