Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan assured that infation is in safe condition, even it is now in the eight lowest inflation provinces in Indonesia in 2025.
"Based on the Statistics Indonesia's (BPS's) data inflation in South Kalimantan is under control, even it is in the eight lowest inflation provinces in Indonesia," said Head of Domestic Trade Development of the South Kalimantan Trade Office Sutikno in Banjarbaru, Monday.
Sutikno made a statement after attending the 2025 regional meeting on controlling inflation chaired by Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian online from Command Center, Governor Office in Banjarbaru.

"South Kalimantan inflation is still safe, 1.2 year-on-year, 1.9 month-to-month and year-up-to-date at 0.43, thus it included in the eight lowest inflation in Indonesia," he said.
However, Sutikno said, urges the province to stay vigilant considering one commodity has a high price nationally, cayenne pepper or bird's eye chili.
"Its price in the province is still skyrocketing," he pointed out.
To deal with this, Sutikno said, the Governor H Muhidin has instructed each region to have a chili plantng area.
This effort is expected at leat to be able to meet the needs in the region itself, considering the current price of bird's eye chili has reached IDR100,000 or more per kilogram.
He also reported that the province's Price Development Index (IPH) was recorded the third lowest in Indonesia and other commodity prices were monitored well.
"Market operation at both provincial and district scale will continue to be intensified to maintain inflation stable. If prices gone up it will be more difficult to lower then," he said.
