Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan Deputy Governor Hasnuryadi Sulaiman highlighted the tourism potential of Kotabaru District, which has beautiful beaches and seas and consist of 45 large and small islands.
The Deputy Governor here on Tuesday said that Kotabaru has a great potential as a tour destination but has not been optimally developed, so that improving human resources is one of the main focus that the provincial government will pay attention to.
"Most part of Kotabaru is located on the islands, and we want to make this area a more developed tourist attraction," he said.
Hasnur underscored that the government of South Kalimantan Province is committed accomodating and paying attention to the aspiration of the people of Kotabaru, especially related to road infrastructure, education, and tourism.

The Deputy Governor had previously conducted Ramadan Safari to accomodate people aspirations at the Sayyidina Ja’far Cruie Ship Mosque in Kotabaru.
He said the provincial government will soon follow up their aspirations to repair road infrastructure, improving education quality, and developing tourism sector.
"We will accomodate all these aspirations and evaluate the condition first. Then, we will report to the Governor to determine the appropriate handling steps," said Hasnur.
The provincial government continues to implement vision and mission by prioritizing budget management efficiency.
Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Kotabaru Syairi Mukhlis appreciated the Deputy Governor's visit to accomodate aspirations of the community and establishing synergy between the South Kalimantan Provincial Government and the District Government of Kotabaru.
He acknowledged that the District Government of Kotabaru is facing challanges related to budget limitation, thus it requires support from the provincial government.
The reason is, Syairi said, Kotabaru consists of 10 sub-districts on the islands and 12 sub-districts on the mainland, and the provincial road with a length of 1,200 kilometers.
Syairi asked the provincial government to prioritize education sector, especially high school level to improve the quality of human resources.
