Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Manpower and Transmigration Agency through the regional technical implementation unit (UPTD) of Job Training Center (BLK) priovided competency-based training for job seekers.
"The government's role is to prepare and train skill (job seekers), and those who obliged to accept are investment companies in Kotabaru," said Regional Secretary H Said Akhmad here on Tuesday.
The competency-based training was attended by 128 job seekers in Kotabaru.
The secretary hopes that the company will pay attention to the local workers, especially regarding the determination of Kotabaru as an industrial area by the central government. Kotabaru has an industrial area in Mekarputih and on Sebuku Island.
Head of Kotabaru Manpower and Transmigration Agency Sugian Noor said the agency provided the participants with 5 skills, namely welding, automotive, electricity, catering, and sewing.
The event was also attended by representatives of companies in Kotabaru District.
