Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan 16/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarmasin City government has suggested to the local legislative council (DPRD) for a making of Detail Engeneering Design (DED) to build a parking building in Lima Market.
"In a meeting with the council, we asked their support for DED making budget for a parking building in Lima Market," said head of Transportation Agency Ichwan Norkhaliq, Sunday.
According to him, the parking building is expected to be realized sooner. At least its DED making to be included in the revised local budget or in the 2018 pure budget.
"We have a space of land down there enough to build a representative parking building. We need it quick to resolve the densely parking overthere," said Ichwan.
The municipal government does not need it to be glory like the one the Duta Mall has. "We want to build it in steel framework. It calculation is not expensive, cause it only two or three storeys," he explained.
With an estimation cost of Rp3 billions, he convinced the plan to build the parking building in Lima Market, neighboring Sudimampir Market, can be implemented. At least for two wheel vehicle parking. While the current condition of parking in both markets is highly densed and it need a fast solution till no more parking road in and around the markets.
Cause, he continued, if leave alone, parking become more chaotic and bringing severe traffic jam.
Meanwhile, the agency keeps curbing and disciplinizing illegal parking. "We are clear to take action against illegal parking, especialy who put parking fee above regulation, that is Rp2.000 for two wheel and Rp3.000 for four wheel," he said.
