Martapura, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regent of Banjar Khalilurrahman announced the extension of flood emergency response status in the entire area of the district and asked related government agencies to take necessary measures.
"The flood emergency response status is extended from February 1 to 7, 2021 thus we ask related agencies to take measures in handling the floods," he said in Martapura, Monday.
The extension, according to the Regent, is implemented considering the high risk of disaster that could occur at any time and anywhere including flood, whirlwind, and landslides.
In addition, referring to BMKG forecasting as well as the results of the working meeting of the government working units (SKPD) with stakeholders regarding the handling of disaster due to natural phenomenon that occurred in a number of areas in the district.
"This emergency response status must be responded by SKPDs' heads by preparing disaster management, which includes flood, whirlwind, and landslides, especially the post-disaster handling," he said.
He said the post-flood impact could disrupt the various sector, including economy, social, and public health, so that it must be addressed by preparing concrete steps in handling it.
