Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor together with Regional Police Chief Insp.Gen. Yazid Fanani accompanied by Regent of Kotabaru Sayed Jafar, Sunday (Nov 24, 2019), came to the location of fire disaster which taken heavy toll on Sungai Bali Village, Sebuku Island, Kotabaru District.
Governor and police chief were flown by a helicopter from Syamsudin Noor Airport. They came right away to the scene of the fire, which leaving only debris.
Head of Kotabaru Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Agency Rahadian Riyadi said, in addition to reviewing directly the newest condition after the disaster which destroyed 200 houses and left 1,400 people homeless, the governor handed over some assistances right to the victims.
"The governor and entourage review the condition after the disaster in Sungai Bali Village, Pulau sebuku Sub-district, Kotabaru, and handed over assistance to the victims," Rahadian told.

The governor conveyed his deep sorrow over the big fire accident that affected the people of Sungai Bali, Sebuku Island.
He instructed all relevant agencies to immediately make an emergency response, especially in handling of victims who really need help.

The fire, which occurred saturday night at about 10 p.m. and ended at about 3.30 a.m. had burned 200 houses, shophouses, langgar (a small place of worship), police station, and two market, Sungai Bali Market and Rampa Market.
