Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Member of South Kalimantan DPRD Commission III for Development and Infrastructure Surinto suggested a temporary delay in the construction of the Pulau Laut Strait Bridge, Kotabaru District.
The reason is that there is no clear plan for central government assistance to the Pulau Laut Strait Bridge megaproject, so it is better to postpone it.
"It might be better if the construction of the Kotabaru Pulau Laut Strait Bridge construction stops temporarily," said the people's representative from the electoral district of VI South Kalimantan (Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu) in Banjarmasin on Friday.
While the funds for the construction of the bridge, suggested of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician, may be used for other developments, such as increasing roads in Kotabaru which are far behind when compared to Tanah Bumbu.
"Construction of bridges to continue if there is clarity, there is an MoU with the central government through the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR)," he advised.
The former member of the Tanah Bumbu DPRD said he was missed on the Kotabaru Bridge issue, which had spent the provincial government budget up to Rp160 billion. In addition, using the Kotabaru Regional Budget of Rp125 billion.
"It said there had been a 'green light' (approval) from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. In fact, the construction of the longest bridge in South Kalimantan was only proposed. It is natural that the central government does not budget," said Surinto.
