Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru District Government launched a socmed-based public issue management information strategy by involving Rapid Response Team (TRC) and information and communication officers (PIC) from all regional work units (SKPDs).
Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis stated that the district government is required to actively present, responsive, and transparent on social media.
“The government can no longer simply be a one-way transmitter of information. By this strategy, the district government is committed to improve the quality data-based public communication, providing trusted official channels, and to responding issues quickly and wisely,” he said as reported on Monday.

The launch of the strategy in managing socmed-based public issues was said to be part of implementation of public issues management transformation in digital era.
The aim is to strengthen coordination in delivery of information, increasing transparency, and expedite the government's response to emerging issues in the community, particularly on socmed.
Meanwhile, the Regent said that the Kotabaru government's official socmed account must become a bridge for a dialogue between the government and the community.
“Let us make socmed as a means to stengthen good, clean, and serving government,” he pointed out.

Expert Staff for Government Zaenal Arifin said that this strategy is a follow-up to a number of regional regulations and the establishment of TRC.
“This step in a joint effort to ensure the effective, quick and transparent delivery of public information, while increasing public trust in the local government,” he explained.
