Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) invited a number of provincial government's related agencies to discuss the continuation plan of Kotabaru Bridge that will connect the main Island of Kalimantan with Pulau Laut (Kotabaru).
Deputy speaker of DPRD Muhammad Syaripuddin, who chaired the meeting, urged the seriousness of provincial government and his colleagues to realize the bridge that has long been a dream to further open up the isolation and for the progress of the southeast region of the province.
"Kotabaru Bridge must be realized, but in accordance with regulations. (We must) follow up on the construction plan as carefully and thoroughly as possible, so there will be no problems in the future," Syaripuddin, who popularly called Bang Dhin, emphasized.
People's representative from the electoral district of South Kalimantan VI (Kotabaru District and Tanah Bumbu District) gave example that the provincial government should obtain recommendation from the Bridge safety Commissin.

"Since the construction of Kotabaru Bridge applied cooperation system (province-Kotabaru-Tanah bumbu), then the agreement must be truly strong and sustainable. It should'n be when the regional head replaced the construction stops," he reminded.
Secretary of Commission I overseeing Government. Law, and Human Rights of the DPRD H Suripno Sumas said that the meeting with related agencies was to further solidify the agreement of the three parties.
"What Bang Dhin said is true, don't let the regional head change, the Kotabaru Bridge construction no longer continue," said the two terms DPRD member.
The joint meeting with Commission I involved, among others, the Board of Regional Development Planning (Bappeda), Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR), Transportation Office (Dishub), the Legal and Government Bureau of the Provincial Administration.
