Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Dyan Pramono Effendi said Banjarmasin city has recorded the lowest inflation in Indonesia in April.
"The lowest inflation was 0.4 percent in the Banjarmasin and the highest in Tarakan, North Kalimantan, 0.45 percent," said Dyan Promono in Banjarbaru, Tuesday.
According to him, the cumulative inflation rate in 2016 December 2015 was recorded 0.85 percent in and the rate of "year on year" inflation with a 5.66 percent by rise in commodity prices.
Commodities that have contributed to the highest inflation, amongs were onion, rice with side dishes, air freight, biscuits, pecel, cake, melon, banana, tuna.
"The meat of chicken, eggs, electricity, wood, tilapia, potatoes, apples and catfish are commodities experienced price declines," he said.
He said inflation in Banjarmasin occurred during April due to rising price index on four types of expenses, food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco.
The increase reached 1.02 percent, the clothing group by 0.56 percent, health 0.25 percent, education, recreation and sport 0.12 percent.
Meanwhile, three groups experienced a decrease in the price index of food 0.27 percent, housing, water and gas 0.36 per cent, 0.91 per cent of transport.
Meanwhile, Tanjung in April recorded a deflation of 0.16 percent with cumulative inflation rate in 2016 against December 2015 a deflation of 0.46 percent.
