Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarmasin Water Police Unit (Satpolair) ensures the safety of river tour now developing in Martapura River.
Satpolair head AKP Untung Widodo in the tourism industry workshop that brings tourism stakeholders, including kelotok (a traditional river motorboat) drivers, in the City Hall on Tuesday said the river security be maintained every day.
"At least three to four personnel continue to be alert in the tourist area of the Martapura River every day, as a step to security," he said.
So far, he said, no crimes threaten life and property of tourists who travel along the river, so that it is merely supervisory safeguards.
More highlighted in the surveillance, Untung said, is a means of transport carrying tourists not to occur undesirable things. For example, not orderly flow of traffic can result accidents.
"This is what we watch, flow of the traffic should be orderly. We want to make sure its regularly in order to avoid accidents which result casualties," he said.
Untung expects, tourist transportation means complement safety equipment, as the standard of care for the safety of tourists.
"We ask also not to carry more passengers than the standard content, it must be remembered all for safety," he said.
According to his observations, river tourism enthusiasm so far continues to rise. It could be seen by the increasing traffic flow of the river transportation back and forth along the Martapura River, so far run smoothly.
