Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Banjar, South Kalimantan, typical form of body care (spa) called "Batimung" incoming nine spa traditions nationally recognized by the National Conference of Traditional Spa in Bali on May 8.
Head of Tourism Destinations of the South Kalimantan Sport, Tourism and culture Agency Sofrina Noor who attended the event here on Wednesday , said Batimung Spa has been established by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as a cultural heritage of the people of South Kalimantan.
Obtained similar awards were Bakera Spa of Minahasa (North Sulawesi), Batangeh Spa (West Sumatra), Oukep Spa (North Sumatra), tangas Spa (Betawi), Tellu Sullapa Spa (Bugis), Java Spa, Bali Spa, and So o `so Spa from Madura.
All the spa tradition, said Sofrina, already recorded in the books of national Spa has the potential to be developed as a national health and beauty products to foreign countries.
Batimung, she said, is the traditional rituals of beauty for the bride before the wedding couples. The bride sealed body with a blanket or something and steamed with spice mixture. In addition to fragrant the body, batimung can eliminate toxins which is out of in sweat, she said.
