The Kotabaru Naval Base (Lanal) held a blood donor on the deck of KRI Ahmad Yani-351 battleship which moored at the Pelindo III port of Kotabaru on Wednesday in commemoration of the 74th anniversary of the Navy in 2019.
"This is a military operation other than war which is one of the tasks of the Indonesian Navy in applying humanitarian assistance and disaster relief," said Kotabaru Naval Base Commander Marine Lt. Col. (P) Guruh Dwi Yudhanto.
In the implementation of blood donor, the Navy cooperated with medical personnel from the Naval Base's Health Center and Blood Transfusion Unit of Kotabaru District Hospital.
Blood donation which is participated by various elements of society in Kotabaru was expected to be able to meet the blood needs of people in need.

Meanwhile, the Navy also held an open ship as a way to introduce defense equipment owned by the TNI, especially the Navy to the public.
Visitors can take a photo and get to know KRI Ahmad Yani-351 as one of the main defense equipment of the Indonesian Navy.
KRI Ahmad Yani-351 is a type of missile destroyer warship under the ranks of the Koarmada II Eskorta Ship Unit commanded by Marine Lt. Col. (P) Bagus Badari Amarullah.

The arrival of KRI Ahmad Yani-351 in Kotabaru is to carrying out the Indonesia-Malaysia border patrol. It just finished carrying out the SAR operation of the KM Santika Nusantara which was burnt in Masalembo waters.
