Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Mayor Banjarbaru Nadjmi Adhani said the city government wants to create a character education program to prepare qualified human resources.
"Character education is in line with the progress of the world of education, both in the context of realizing quality human resources and facing the world of work, especially the 4.0 industrial revolution," he said in Banjarbaru, Thursday.
He made his remark while leading the National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration as well as commemorating Regional Autonomy Day at Murjani Field and attended by elements of Forkopimda (members of regional leader communication forum) and ASN (state apparatus), teachers and students.
"The goal of the current education world is very much in line with what has been done by the Banjarbaru City Government, which is to realize character education and efforts to increase the ability to enter the workforce," he said.
Meanwhile, the commemoration of the 23rd Regional Autonomy Day raised the theme of improving the quality of Indonesia's human resources better through the implementation of creative and innovative regional autonomy.
After the ceremonial activities, the mayor handed over the award certificate to the director of the Bank Kalsel for participation in the Banjarbaru City Education exhibition and gave prizes to various Hardiknas competitions.
