Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regent of Tabalong, South Kalimatan, H Muhammad Noor Rifani asked PT Conch South Kalimantan Cement to build Cheng Hoo Mosque in Tanjung Puri tourist area in Kasiau Village,Murung Pudak Sub-district, as an effort to grow local tourism.
"We are preparing a land in the Tanjung Puri attraction so that the construction of Cheng Hoo Mosque to be realized this year," said the Regent here on Wednesday.
The Regent conveyed the request during his visit to the cement factory owned by Chinese investor in Saradang Village, Haruai Sub-district.
The Chinese-style mosque is targeted to be realized in December 2025 to coincide with the 60th anniversary of Tabalong District.

The Regent optimistic the cement firm Conch could realizes its promise to build the mosque, which actually had been planned since 2019, and expects the support of the community to realize this worship place.
"Cheng Hoo Mosque, which will be the only one in Kalimantan, will be a religious tourism in Tabalong," said Rifani.
On the same occasion, the Regent together with Deputy Regent Habib Muhammad Taufani Alkaf, 1008/Tabalong Military Commander Lt. Col. Inf. Budi Galih Sanjaya and other officials reviewed Tanjung Puri tourist area as a location for the construction of Cheng Hoo Mosque.
"In accordance with our vision and mission, the presence of Cheng Hoo Mosque is an effort to realize a religious society," Taufani expounded.
Meanwhile, during a visit to the cement factory, Tabalong Regent and General Manager of PT Conch South Kalimantan Cement Duan Zhong Jun signed a cooperation agreement for the development in "Bumi Saraba Kawa" or Tabalong.
