Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Agriculture Ministry distributed assistance in the form of agricultural machinery and tools (alsintan) rotavator for 83 food brigades throughout Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan, to work on swamp land optimization.
"This assistance spurs our enthusiasm and motivation, especially for farmers, food brigades and all farmer groups in Tanah Laut to be more enthusiastic in farming," Tanah Laut Regent H Rahmat Trianto remarked in Handil Babirik Village, Bumi Makmur Sub-district, Wednesday.
Rahmat wants this trust and optimism to spread to all food brigades and farmers throughout Tanah Laut.

"We have received an assistance of about 307 units of alsintan with various functions and uses," he said.
He hopes the target of three harvests per year will be easier to achieve with these agricultural machinery.
Rahmat also believes that the the trust given by the central government can create optimism to make Tanah Laut as part of the nationaal food strength for food self-sufficiency.
However, he reminded, that this must be balanced with good collaboration and cooperation for all related parties.
On that occasion, Rahmat symbolically handed over rotavators assistance to 17 food brigades in Handil Babirik Village, Bumi Makmur Sub-district, which took place during the simultaneous harvest activity across 14 provinces led by President Prabowo Subianto from Majalengka, West Java.
In Tanah Laut, the simultaneous harvest activity was conducted with Directorate General of Agricultural Land and Irrigation officials.
The agricultural machinery assistance came after the promise of Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman in his last visit to Tanah Laut.
