Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, H Muhammad Rusli conducted a working visit and silaturahmi to Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, one of which was related to food security issue.
The Regent said that the Kotabaru District Government wants to increase agricultural production, which is in line with the Regent's vision and mission, placing agriculture as one of priority programs.
He conveyed several important things to Miniser Sulaiman, including proposals for agrilcultural machinery, excavator and motorcycles for agricultural extension workers.
The Minister welcome the proposals positively, hoping that they both could build each other in this meeting.
He said Kotabaru District needs to print rice field at least 5,000 hectares and printing planting on dry land also 5,000 hectares.
To support this program, Minister of Agriculture will provide two units of 4-wheeled tractors, five units of 2-wheeled tractors, and one unit of combine rice harvester.
The entourage of the Regent included Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Kotabaru DPRD, Head of Agriculture Office and his staff.
