Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tabalong District National Drug Agency (BNNK), South Kalimatan, is collaborating with PT Adaro Indonesia to conduct urine test for workers to prevent drug abuse.
Chief of the Tabalong BNNK Office AKBP Tukiman said that the number of urine test target increased in 2024 compared to the previous year.
"By collaborating with Adaro Group, we can conduct continuous random test through the company entrance,” he said in Tanjung, Friday .
Selama 2024, Tabalong BNNK has recorded urine test on 1,079 people throughout 2024, an increase compared to 2023 which reached 739 people
Of the total 1,079 targets, 353 were the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) or government, 368 workes, and 358 residents.
Tukiman added that urine test for private sector workers were carried out at each company independently.
He said that the test activities were carried out by the company independently to ward off narcotics abuse and to supervise internally in the work environment.
This condition, he said, showed awareness and active participation of private sector in combating narcotics, so they do not depend of BNNK.
"The urine test is part of Tabalong BNNK's strategy to increase public awareness and to prevent drug spread," said Tukiman.
Especially in local government circles, urine test implementation has received full support, so that urine test can be conducted routinely.
"We will continue to increase efforts to prevent and to eradicate drugs in Tabalong," said Tukiman.
In the field of eradication, he said, the BNNK 's Integrated Assessment Team (TAT) has carried out test on 14 people related to Tabalong Police Drug Unit Investigator's application.
The test resulted a recommendation for their inpatient rehabilitation at the the Sambang Lihum Mental Hospital (RSJ).
