Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - General Manager (GM) of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Purnomo was asked to resign if he can not immediately solve the electricity crisis.
The demand was voiced by representatives of Chairmans of the Neighborhood Units (KRT) from 52 villages from throughout the city of Banjarmasin in an interactive dialogue "Banjarmasin Power Crisis" with the sub-theme "What PLN has been done?".
The dialogue that facilitated by the Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI) Banjarmasin presented the keynote speaker GM of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan, Saturday.
Responding to the harsh demands for his resignation then, Purnomo consider a matter as an expression of criticism and frustration of the people against him.
"If it makes so good, I have no problem about resignation. I have no problem with it. Now I just try my utmost to overcome power crisis," he said.
He acknowledged public disappointment against PLN currently very heightened by the continuing power outage. However it needs to be understood by the public that this occurs because of interference that can not be solved quickly.
Purnomo explained, the power crisis is due to the maintenance of the unit 2 of steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) Asam-Asam, resulting in a large enough deficit of electric power.
"Overall deficit is 43.5 MW. This is equivalent to the extinction of 87,000 households affected by the blackout to 1,4 million of PLN customers," he said.
PLN continues to address this issue including by relocating the 50 MW diesel power (PLTD) from Bali and Riau and purchase excess power of 35 MW, and targeted the end of June can be realized.
"Various quickly efforts continue, even we will work with the private power companies as a measure to overcome this power crisis," he said.
A representative of RT of Sungai Andai Village, North Banjarmasin, Bambang admitted was not satisfied with the explanation, because there is no assurance or guarantee of the end of outages that inflicted damages.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the KNPI Banjarmasin Said Komaruzzaman stated, the demanding must be interpreted wisely by all parties, including the PLN and the community itself.
"Although he resign tomorrow, for example, electricity should not also be normal. So the core is we can solve the problem together," he said.
KNPI, he stated, will follow up this discussion, such as the addition of electric power projects that PLN as the operator can not do much because the solution in the hands of the contractor.
