Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - General Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Purnomo said blackouts in the two provinces still occur due to lack of electricity power.
"We still lack of electricity power 27 MW, so power outages to some customers are still going on. But it relatively take not too long," he said in Banjarbaru Friday.
He said power shortages to support Barito Electrical Systems was due to power unit 3 of PLTU (steam-fueled power plant) Asam-Asam is not operating optimally.
Power plant units 3, which was undergoing maintenance since last month, has only generating electric power 46 Mega Watt from its normal capacity 60 MW.
"The position of 46 MW we maintain while awaiting adjustments after maintenance of the machine, so that the Barito electrical system still lack of power 27 MW," he said.
The Barito Electrical Systems supported by four power units of PLTU Asam-Asam, hydropower (PLTA) Riam Kanan and diesel (PLTD), as well as rental plants, reached 504 MW.
Meanwhile, the evening peak load reached 493 MW, so there is a reserve of 10 MW. But because of the Asam-Asam power plant unit 3 engine is repaired, so the state electrical company now has shortage of 60 MW.
"The condition was the cause of South and Central Kalimantan suffered outages and is now gradually power plant unit 3 enters the system," he said.
He explained, the electrical conditions in the two provinces is estimated to normal without interruption at the beginning of 2016 following the planned operational of Pulang Pisau power plant with a capacity of 2x60 MW.
