Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - General Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Purnomo said rolling blackouts will end in December 2015.
"Early December we expect the electricity supply in South and Central Kalimantan will be normally and smoothly, so no more rolling blackouts," he said in Banjarbaru Saturday.
He said normal power supply from early December 2015 because of the maintenance period of Asam-Asam power plant unit 3 is completed in late November 2015. The maintenance carried out since the end of October 2015 and the improvement now reached 86.4 percent.
"Maintenance of engine power plant unit 3 that make electrical system Barito shortage of up to 60 megawatts of electrical power resulting in rolling blackouts," he said.
He said, in addition to the normal power supply after the repair, when December rainfall is expected to be higher so that hydropower can operate smoothly.
"As a result of drought, hydropower operations disrupted and can not supply the maximum power of 30 MW because it can only operate below 10 MW," he said.
According to him, if it will later still be outages, likely due to network interference or other technical problems, but not because of power shortages.
