Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 31/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Due to the disruption of transmission, the flow of electricity in two provinces, South and Central Kalimantan, cut off. Thousands of customers can not enjoy the electricity.
PLN South and Central Kalimantan's Transmission and Distribution Manager Hery Santoso in Banjarbaru on Thursday said the disturbance occurred at around 14.31 pm caused electricity distribution cut off.
"It happens at the 150-kilo Volt (kV) Extra-High Voltage Power (SUTT) lines between the Barikin Substation and the Rantau Substation resulting power outage in South and Central Kalimantan," he said.
The transmission disruption causes the 140 Mega Watt (MW) power supply from Bangkanai Power Plant Gas Station (PLTMG) can not be channeled.
The loss of power of 140 MW, he added, caused the voltage frequency of South and Central Kalimantan electrical system dropped, some large power plants suddenly stop operating.
"The voltage drop drastically impacts the operation of other power plants, including PLTU Asam-Asam and PLTU Pulang Pisau sudden trip (stop operating)," he said.
According to him, PLN is still working hard to restore the electrical system serving two provinces and gradually each substation began to operate
Furthermore, the generators impacted by power failure will graduallybegin to operate and then sync to the electrical system.
"We need time to restore the electricity system gradually to ensure safety parameters. At 19.30, the recovery of the PLTMG Bangkanai power supply is successful," he said.
Subsequently, technicians deployed by PLN gradually started up the Asam-Asam power plant and the power supply is expected to resume at 22.00 pm across South and Central Kalimantan.
"We apologize for this unexpected accident, and hope people can be patient and pray that the process of restoring the electrical system runs smoothly," he said.
Meanwhile, up to 21.00 pm, power outage still hit some parts of South Kalimantan, including Banjarbaru, thus disrupting the activities of the community on the night of Eid al-Adha.
