Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) flagged off 798 graduates at the 104th graduation ceremony which was held at the ULM auditorium of its Banjarbaru Campus, Thursday.
"Alhamdulilah (praise be to Allah) at the end of 2021 we managed to produce hundreds of graduates, including bachelors, masters, and doctors," said ULM Rector Prof. Sutarto Hadi to Antara News after the 10th graduation of the Senate Open Session.
He said he was grateful that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, ULM was still able to carry out the tri dharma (three missions) of higher education and produced graduates.
"It is hoped that the ULM alumni to enter the community to make a positive contribution to the development," he said.
Sutarto believes that ULM graduates, as the best state universities in Kalimantan with A accreditation, have the competence, knowledge, and skill to meet the needs in every field of work.
He also hopes that from the ULM alumni there will be national leaders, both in the field of education, scientists, or politics to statemen.
"The people of South Kalimantan are waiting for the birth of more national figures from Banua (South Kalimantan) who can take part in supporting regional progress through their role at the central level," said Sutarto.
The 798 graduates consisted of diploma 4 program, bachelors 697, masters 95, and Doctor of Agricultural Science 2 --to make the total 16 doctoral decrees that ULM had produced.
The best graduate was Fatimah Elyani M.Kes from the Postgraduate Program in Public Health Studies with a GPA of 4.00, Zainuddin SPd, from the Undergraduate Program (S1) in Mathematics FKIP with a GPA of 3.94. While the best Diploma Program (D3) graduate was Eka Aulia A.Md Pjk from the Taxation Study Program with a GPA of 3.23.
