Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Patrol Unit III of Sabhara Banjarmasin Police arrested nine teenagers, they were three women and six men, found being binge drinking tuak or traditional liquor.
"We nabbed them while drinking liquor on roadside area of North Alalak , exactly next to SMPN 23," said the head of Sabhara unit AKP Ukkas M Kitta through Squad III Commander Bripka Dwiyanto in Banjarmasin City, Thursday.
He said the teen were secured on Thursday (9/7) morning at around 00:30 when gathering and seem suspicious. Then the patrol police approached and discovered they were binge drinking tuak.
"We brought them directly to the office for data collection and to be examined their actions drinking in the month of fasting," he told Antaranews.
In order to give deterrent effect to the teenagers, the police put them into the truck cage for approximately 1x24 hours.
If their case is included in the elements of a misdemeanor, they will undergo a trial in the District Court of Banjarmasin.
