Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Acting Director of the District Hospital Pangeran Jaya Sumitra of Kotabaru drg Cipta Waspada confirmed that three ship crews, who previously suspected to have been exposed to coronavirus (2019-nCoV), their result of the clinical examination has proven negative.
"From the result of clinical examination with all medical facilities we have, the three patients did not point toward the situation (coronavirus). So, one patient was able to go home and two others are still being observed in the hospital," Cipta stated, Friday (Feb 14, 2020).
The two are diagnosed with acute respiratory infections (ISPA) and still under observation, he noted, and now continued to show improvement and hopefully to recover soon.
In its release, the hospital revealed, the three patients are crews of Floating Crane ship and MP Vega Rose ship.

One of them, Ama (19), a resident of Batulicin, Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, was a crew ship of Floating Crane. He works as a cook with 10 other friends. On February 13, Ama suffered fever and brought to Pangeran Jaya Sumitra Hospital (RSUD-PJS Kotabaru). The examination resulted normal and he was diagnosed only with Febris.
While two other patients were crews of MP Vega Rose with Panama flag. They were RW (24), a resident of Rembang, Central Java, and AB (47), a resident of Tegal, Central Java.

In the ship journey history, the ship had made stopovers in several places in China, namely January 19 at the Port of Tian Jin, the January 28 at Sian Tang Port, February 3 at Zian Jiang Port to continued then to Kotabaru waters since February 12 at about 21.00 Wita (Central Indonesia Time) at Tanjung Pemancingan area.
Based on the information received by KKP Wilker Kotabaru, 2 crew members of Vega Rose were sick on the ship on February 13 at 14,00 Wita and were taken to RSUD PJS Kotabaru with fever, headaches, and cough with phlegm.
The examination at the hospital resulted in the two diagnosed ISPA. In accordance with coordination between the Kotabaru hospital's lung specialist doctor and Ulin Regional Hospital's lung specialist doctor in Banjarmasin, it was decided to make a further observation for the next three days.
"Both patients are allowed to go home if getting better, but if not they will be referred to Ulin Regional Hospital in Banjarmasin," Cipta said.
