Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of the Kotabaru Agriculture Agency Hairudin revealed that Sengayam Village in Pamukan Barat Sub-district has very good agriculture. Planting corn here without tillage producing 12 tons from each hectare.
"The land in Sengayam and surroundings is better and superior to other places, just like in Pelaihari," he stated at the corn harvest in Sengayam Village attended by the Kotabaru Regent H Sayed Jafarand a number of officials, Wednesday (Feb 12, 2020).
It was proven as the land planted with corn without agricultural preparation of soil by mechanical agitation of various types and only using herbicide with a BISI 226 seeds.
"Alhamdullilah farmers group here in one hectare could produce 12 tons," he pointed out.

Meanwhile, the harvest feast in Pamukan Barat covers an area of 40 hectares from a total of 1.500 hectares of corn planting land. The yield is planned to be used as raw material for animal feed.
Regent H Sayed Jafar happily welcomed and proud of the harvest of his people. In the series of the harvest feast, the regent handed over assistance for places of worship and BPJS Health cards for the local community.

The ceremony was attended by Chairwoman of PKK Kotabaru, Commander of 1004 Kotabaru Military Command, heads of SKPD, Head of Kelumpang Barat Sub-district, Forkopimca, invitees, and residents of Sengayam Village.
