Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tapin District Government in collaboration with Bank Indonesia Representative of South Kalimantan conducted a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) to increase the export quality of shallots.
The FGDs were held, said Head of Tapin Agriculture Agency Wagimin, based on the signing of a collaboration between the shallot farmers association in the district and PT Binagloria Enterprindo, a shallot buyer company.
The activity which took place in the agricultural technology park hall in South Tapin on Wednesday (27/3) was attended by the Assistant Government of Tapin HM Yunus, representatives of Bank Indonesia, farm staff, and shallot farmers in Tapin district.
"Hopefully through the FGD we will get a mutually beneficial meeting point and understand each other's rights and obligations," Wagimin said.
The Government Assistant HM Yunus also hopes that with this FGD, farmers in Tapin will get answers to problems in the field.
Karlis, a shallot farmer, in an interview said that some of the points discussed in the FGD were the high price of shallot seeds and the desire of farmers to produce seeds themselves.
