Amuntai, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) government is considering to explore the potential of its water to produce bottled water.
Regent HSU Abdul Wahid in Amuntai on Tuesday said, 89 percent of HSU area is swampy water and located at the intersection of Tabalong River and Balangan. It saves the potential of water that can be developed.
"Raw Water in HSU have been studied and found to be better quality than raw water of branded bottled water," Wahid said.
He said the government-owned water company PDAM Amuntai began planning to produce bottled drinking water (AMDK) as one effort to explore local revenue through water potential.
The plan to produce AMDK is not without consideration. In addition to the results of research on the quality of raw water, the river water conditions in HSU also do not experience drought or problems during the dry and rainy season.
"When compared to PDAMs in other regions, PDAM Amuntai has also a very little problem, so the potential to grow is better," he said.
