Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Asam Randah Village, Hatungun Sub-district, Tapin District, South Kalimantan, was appointed as a strategic location for implementing the national program of simultaneous planting of dry land rice agroforestry.
Minister of Forestry's Expert Staff for Inter-Institutional Relation Fahrizal Fitri said that this program is the result of synergy between ministries and regional governments to strengthen national food security.
"A total of 1,000 trees are planted, consisting of 250 durian, 250 manggo, 250 avocado, 150 crystal guava, and 100 pampaken. In addition, dry land rice is planted on one hectare land," he said in Rantau, Tapin district, Wednesday.

This simultaneous plantng program, he expounded, was in line with the government's efforts to integrate agricultural, forestry, and community empowerment sectors through social forestry scheme.
Fahrizal Fitri hopes that this action will encourage land productivity while maintaining environmental preservation.
Meanhile, Tapin Administration Assistant for Government and People's Welfare H Zainal Abidin expressed his support to the program.
"Activities like this is very useful, not only to support food security but improve people's welfare as well," he said.
He hopes Tapin to develop further in agricultural and forestry sector, while also contributing to make sustainable food security at national level.
Head of Asam Randah Village Nurul Aini Haris also expressed his pride because his village was again trusted to be the location of national program.
"We are happy because Asam Randah is always chosen for important activities. Hopefully this program to provide real benefits for village community," he said.
