Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Specialist study program of Internal Medicine at the University of Lambung Mangkurat's Faculty of Medicine and Health Science (FKIK ULM) has gained a superior accreditation from the Indonesian Accrediation for Health Higher Education Agency (LAM-PTKes).
"This achievement making Internal Medicine the first specialist study program at ULM to be accreditated superior," said ULM Deputy Rector for Academic Iwan Aflanie in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Sunday (May 19, 2024).
This achievement also placed ULM's Internal Medicine Specialist to be the first university in Kalimantan or Borneo Island to obtain superior accreditation.

There are currently seven specialist study programs at the FKIK ULM, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Pediatric, Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Anesthesiology, and Orthopedic and Traumatology.
Other specialist study programs have been accreditated excellent, only Orthopedic and Traumatology has good accreditation.
Iwan said the Internal Medicine Specialist Study Program has shown its success in the acceleration program.
In fact, its re-accreditation schedule is 2026 with the current status of excellent.
However, strengthened with the commitment of the study program and supported by the policies of both the faculty and universty leaders, this year it accelerated to immediately improve its accrediation status.
"Alhamdulilah goal (successful), this is the fruit of optimism, hard work, structured, planned and systematic," said Iwan representing ULM Rector Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri.
It is known that superior is the highest stratum of accreditation in higher education and only given to a study program with an accrediation score of A and meets the requirements to enter the superior predicate.
