Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The City of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, has won the best among 15 cities in Indonesia, in Integrated-Sustainability Indonesia Movement (I-SIM) for Cities program.
Banjarbaru Mayor M Aditya Mufti Ariffin here on Wednesday expressed his gratitude for the achievement in the SDGs rating and awarding program for city governments, which is a collaboration of APEKSI and PT Surveyor Indonesia.
The program, which is supported by Bappenas, aims to spread awareness of the SDGs, the importance of disclosure and benchmarks for the progress of achieving SDGs at the national to sub-national levels, especially city governments.
"We are very grateful for the award and of course sustainable develoment is very important. Our participation in I-SIM for Cities program can improve development and community welfare," he pointed out.
According to Aditya, stakeholders participation is needed in accelerating the achievement of each indicator with the ultimate goal of improving the welfare of people.
"This award is a spirit and motivation to create superior and innovative programs related to sustainable development for the capital city of South Kalimantan in the future. It becomes a vitamin to increase enthusiasm and work hard so that it can be better," he said.
The I-SIM for Cities program in 2022 was attended by 70 out of 98 cities in Indonesia. 15 cities passed the judging, namely Semarang, Pare-pare, Blitar, Tebing Tinggi, Salatiga, Probolinggo, Manado, Pagar Alam, Tegal, Tasikmalaya, Bogor, Sukabumi, Gorontalo, Banjarbaru, and Tanggerang.
In the assessment, Banjarbaru City won a score of 59.13 so the city whose nickname the Dream City won "The Encourager" category in achieving SDGs at the city government level throughout Indonesia.
